About Ksiopea
A timetable generator for schools: exact mathematics for the computation, natural language to steer it.
A timetable is the invisible skeleton of the school year.
When it fits, no one notices: lessons flow, teachers breathe, rooms line up. When it breaks, the whole school feels it from the first day of September.
Building it has always been two battles at once — a fiendish computation, the kind computer science has studied for forty years, and a staffroom negotiation where every “not on Fridays” shifts the whole board.
Ksiopea brings the two halves together: an exact engine solves the mathematics; an assistant handles the conversation, understanding what you ask and telling you, with data, what each change costs. What used to be a month of spreadsheets and corridor talks becomes an afternoon of informed decisions.
Out of the tangle of constraints, a clear shape emerges. Order from chaos: a constellation.
What it is
Building a school’s timetable is a constraint-satisfaction problem with decades of literature behind it. Ksiopea solves it with a state-of-the-art optimization engine and adds what was missing: a modern interface, real importers and exporters, and an assistant you use to steer the timetable by talking.
How it works
The timetable computation is done by an exact solver: it guarantees the result meets the institution’s hard constraints. The artificial intelligence does not solve the timetable — it translates the head of studies’ instructions into constraints and explains why something doesn’t fit — and the engine is always the one that places and validates. When a change doesn’t fit, Ksiopea flags the conflict and proposes the smallest possible concession, with the cost on the table.

Philosophy
- Privacy by design: no telemetry, no trackers, no third-party SDKs.
- Data where it belongs: in the European Union, with the option to self-host on the school’s own server.
- Real accessibility: keyboard operable and with careful contrast, towards WCAG 2.2 AA.
- Sovereignty: European infrastructure and open formats so the institution can take its data whenever it wants.
